ASLS is a learning program that teaches healthcare professionals how to identify, evaluate, and treat stroke patients. The course is designed for in-hospital and pre-hospital settings and is suitable for both new and experienced providers. The course uses simulation for learning and testing purposes. The American Heart Association (AHA) and The University of Miami's Gordon Center developed the course curriculum, which is used by many hospitals, fire rescue, and EMS systems, as well as educational institutions. There is no Pre-Course self-assessment. A course Reference guide and hand outs are issued during the class with all the information that is needed. The course will begin at 8:30 am and conclude between 2 and 4 pm depending on class size. A lunch break will be provided.

The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine controls the content and production of this CE activity and attempts to ensure the presentation of balanced, objective information.
